I love the idea of transfem!Twelve, especially if meeting Missy and realising who she is was what first made it click for her the possibility of being a woman, or any other way that Missy might support her self-discovery. What I really love about them is their complicated history and relationship, how much they love each other and still hurt each other. Okay, so, consider this: Chibodee Crockett, pride and joy of Neo-America, is a bisexual trans man
and he’s got a reason for dyeing his bangs pink (it isn’t exactly communicating with your fists, but it’s still easier than finding the words)
and sometimes he fears that going public could cock up his reputation enough to put his boxing career and *his dream* in jeopardy, because is that the kind of person his country wants repping them on the world stage - will it screw up the shining example narrative they’ve set up - will they still be proud of him?
and he thought he ended up with the Queen of Spades appellation because the former Shuffle Alliance or the crest itself or something somehow knew about him, it *knew* and the title was chosen to mock him
and he’s learned to laugh off comments about his flirtatious nature, because he gets enough of that from people who don't know
and he gets a little more out of this ‘destined rival’ business than he should
and the gals know, because they’re practically family and they know everything - and queerness isn’t exactly new to them anyway
He knew who he was from a young age, and had a habit of getting into scrapes with people who didn’t agree (as if a homeless orphan in New York doesn’t have enough issues). Luckily, that taught him damn quick how to defend himself from jerks bigger and stronger and more numerous than him, which of course only helped him on his way up and out.
He was always gonna grow up to be tall and lanky anyway, but he was scouted young, and hadn't totally stopped growing by the time he was able to start T, so he shot up like a weed.
On the one hand, he loves having his shirt off, just because he can. On the other, he still leans toward boxy shirts and hasn't kicked the habit of dressing to exaggerate his shoulders. (He also knows he might not be able to get away with some of his fashion choices - hello, bright pink bangs! - if he hadn't hit the passing/stealth lottery. At worst, he gives off a ‘vaguely queer in a rockstar way’ looking vibe. Which isn't entirely inaccurate.)
Sure, he's a naturally flirtatious guy, but he has *way* less experience than people assume. He's got enough eyes on him that he can't take chances.
When he first met and took on the girls, he said there was something about them, something in their eyes that reminded him of himself. Obviously he recognized scrappy street urchins when he saw them, and had to give them the chance he got. But there was something else, too - the sense that they'd had to fight to be themselves. He somehow knew Shirley's fight was like his.
Aside from the ideas in my little manifesto here/expanding on the freeforms, I'm especially curious to see the effects of being stealth and a celebrity. A lack of relationship/sex experience because of the fear of outing, actually coming out or being outed after the world is watching him (concept: "if you have something to say about me, say it in the ring"), any excuses he had to come up with to cover for top surgery/hysterectomy, even things like "does he wear a packer in his trace suit or does he figure nobody's looking".
(As for the sex tags, they're all over the place because I figure they're pretty switchy.)
I've thought less about George, but it's an idea I'm curious about. Perhaps an arc struggling with duty vs heart, like worrying whether embracing womanhood would conflict with being a knight. And/or, in an inverse of the aforementioned stealth idea, the decision to transition after all eyes are on her.

(Creator's choice on what specific kind of NB to go with; prompter is bigender and can only speak from that expertise.)
There's maybe also room to explore how his different personas fulfill different things for him, and how he doesn't see them as at odds, and how *that* ties into the gender revelation?

And the leitmotif of this request is: canon cross dresser has gender feelings. I like trans fic that is about exploring identity and coming out (or ultimately choosing not to), but I also like fic where a character's trans identity is secondary or incidental to the story being told. Some ideas:

+ Baby Hyasha surprised that people have gender feelings, eventually forcing themselves to conform to the expectation of their AGAB; being allowed to explore and become comfortable in their agender identity through cross dressing; the weight of Dead people’s expectations.
+ Sen seems like the type of cis character who’d be accepting in a casual if somewhat dismissive way of the weight of coming out, up until the point where he sees Hyasha in Distress over gender and then he’d drop the ~whimsically apathetic~ mage persona.
+ Sen devising magical HRT because he’s bored (also, he really cares, but he’s going to say it was just because he was bored).
+ Just because she comes out as a woman, doesn’t mean Hyasha starts bottoming. And the garters still stay on.

Trans identity and drow culture fascinate me as a concept, and Drizzt—for whom the gender politics of Menzoberranzan are an integral facet of his backstory—feels like a fun character to play with this regarding. After all, he already has the emotional support panther and found family to go with a trans identity.
I’m caught up through Sea of Swords/Sellswords and aware of Zaknefein’s later resurrection, but don’t particularly care about spoilers so set it in the timeline wherever you see your fic fitting. I like trans fic that is about exploring identity and coming out (or ultimately choosing not to), but I also like fic where a character's trans identity is secondary or incidental to the story being told. Some additional ideas:

+ Part of Drizzt’s slowness to embrace his growing affections for Catti-brie is because of his stealth trans identity; he finally comes out when they’re ready to be intimate for the first time.
+ Drizzt who thinks his trans identity is obvious; none of his non-Drow companions having a single clue.
+ Gender affirming Insults by Briza or Vierna when he reunites respectively with them post-Homeland.

‘Why not project trans identity on to my poor little meow meow?’ I thought to myself as I nominated Elric. I like trans fic that is about exploring identity and coming out (or ultimately choosing not to), but I also like fic where a character's trans identity is secondary or incidental to the story being told. As far as relationships that interest me, I love exploring Elric’s dynamics with Arioch, Moonglum, Yyrkoon, and Cymoril most—gen or ship fic for any of those is welcome.
Some ideas:

+ Exploring the cultural differences between gender & trans identity in Melnibone versus the Young Kingdoms, or just generally trans identity as a Melnibonean—this brutally hedonistic and psychedelically magical culture.
+ Growing up as the trans and sickly heir to the throne of Melnibone and how that changes his/her dynamics with his/her father, Cymoril, and Yyrkoon.
+ Gender affirming (or not) non-con between Arioch/Elric (tentacles?) or Yyrkoon/Elric.

One of the things i find fascinating about Travis is the way that he's clearly struggling with himself when we meet him. He's lonely, he's scared, he's lost his family, & he doesn't know who he is now that he's HERE. I love the way we see him losing his sexism, love the way that he seems to realize he's a minority now, he's different... I'd love to see that leading to revelations. I love the way that everyone wears each other's clothes, the way gender seems to fall away for a lot of them. I'd love to see what may happen with that.
Please know I love all of them the same amount, even if I've got more suggestions or ideas for some - I can't wait to see where you go with them, regardless!
Travis/Shauna - I love the idea of Travis having Uncomfortable Revelations about himself when he's helping Shauna. I could see him being guilty about the fact that he's envious of her when she's pregnant, or awkward about the fact that he doesn't know how he feels... I could see the two of them both being neurotic about what the other has in one way or another (you could play into Shauna's own anxiety around being queer?). Or you could go in a completely different direction - I'd love to see, regardless!
Travis/Nat - I feel like it would be really interesting seeing the two of them wrestling with Travis being trans. There's Nat's resentment for what being a girl has meant for her - she's angry about being treated like she's lesser, she's had to deal with gendered violence from her dad, from Travis' own misogyny. And I could see Travis' envy towards her, & the way that the two of them care about each other, even as they end up hurting each other. The way they take care of each other, I could see him opening up to her & her ultimately being helpful, even if she isn't particularly good at it.
Travis/Lottie - The way that Lottie keeps fucking with Travis' mind... I love it. I could see that going to weird gender places, I could see that going to weird identity issues... I don't have any specific ideas, if I'm gonna be honest, but the way that she'd do almost anything for the Wilderness... I could imagine it going Places. Maybe she wants him to change to make that connection, maybe he wants to change in an attempt to not be him... I don't have any ideas beyond that, but I'm sure that you can go places with it!
